Consolidation of Pedestrian and Cycle Zones and School Streets

Closed 20 Nov 2024

Opened 9 Oct 2024

Overview

This consultation seeks views on the proposed consolidation of the existing pedestrian and cycle zones within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea into a single Traffic Order, along with an existing vehicle ban in parts of Portobello Road and to remove the exceptions and exemptions to the restrictions above that currently apply to disabled persons blue badge holders, these being as follows:

(i)    the signed exception that applies to the pedestrian and cycle zones in Bute Street and Portobello Road; and

(ii)    the exemption that applies to the Council’s existing school street pedestrian and cycle zones.

These changes will NOT affect access into each street for those wishing to park to access homes or shops.
