Draycott Avenue - Pedestrian and Cycle Zone

Closed 6 Nov 2024

Opened 25 Sep 2024

Overview

This consultation seeks views on the proposed introduction of a pedestrian and cycle zone in part of Draycott Avenue. All vehicles other than pedal cycles would be banned from entering the paved area in that part of Draycott Avenue that extends westwards from the building line between No. 161 and Nos. 163 to 165 Draycott Avenue to its junction with Walton Street.

The Order is required to provide a pedestrian and cycle zone in part of Draycott Avenue in order to improve the amenities of the local area, as part of a new public realm scheme. In April 2024, the Council made a traffic order changing the parking restrictions in preparation for this scheme, where two loading bays were created (one in Walton Street and one in Ixworth Place) to assist local businesses with deliveries. The Council previously consulted on the public realm scheme and the details can be found on the Council’s website at the link below.
