Housing Fraud Policy
Overview
The Council is introducing a new Housing Fraud Policy that establishes clear definitions of housing fraud and unacceptable conduct and confirms Kensington and Chelsea council's approach to tackling housing fraud. The policy sets out the following:
- Definitions of tenancy and housing fraud
- Reporting and investigation procedures
- Criminal and civil enforcement actions
- Responsibilities of both residents and the Council
The policy reinforces the Council’s zero-tolerance stance on tenancy fraud. It provides clarity on investigation procedures and promotes awareness across the Council and among residents.
