Citizens' Panel - Making the Borough Greener

Overview

In 2021, we consulted with residents on key environmental priorities before adopting our:

• Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP)
• Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP)
• and Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP)

Now, we want to hear from you again to help shape the programmes and priorities for the coming years. This consultation aims to understand how environmental issues are impacting your local area, what environmental improvements you'd like to see and which actions you think the Council should prioritise. Your feedback is vital, and together we can shape a greener, healthier, and more resilient future for Kensington and Chelsea - reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality and enhancing biodiversity in our neighbourhoods.

One of the key priorities in our Council Plan is to deliver greener neighbourhoods, cleaner air, and healthier lives for everyone who lives here. Our five key environmental commitments include:

• tackling climate change and achieving carbon neutrality
• improving air quality
• protecting and enhancing biodiversity
• addressing fuel poverty
• and minimising waste.

Why your views matter

We recognise the importance of creating vibrant, liveable and sustainable neighbourhoods by working with the community to envision a greener future for all communities. This survey seeks your input on the environmental challenges in your area, the improvements you wish to see, and the priorities that matter most to you.

As extreme weather events like heatwaves and flooding become more severe and frequent affecting the borough and our communities, this survey also aims to explore how we can adapt to climate change, safeguard/protect all residents, especially the most vulnerable ones, and build a more climate-resilient community together.
