How we may grant aids and adaptations: For an aid or adaptation to be provided, we would arrange for an Occupational Therapist assessment to understand the need for the aid or adaptation. The Occupational Therapist may assess the need for an aid or adaptation, or they may arrange for a different form of support. Once assessed and if there is a need, we will arrange for a surveyor to attend the property and scope the works required.
Minor adaptations are small-scale modifications that are intended to improve accessibility and safety for residents. These adaptations, with a maximum cost of £1,000, may include the following modifications: handrails, grab rails, ramps, lever taps.
Major adaptations involve larger-scale modifications that typically require structural changes to a property and have a cost exceeding £1,000. Major adaptations may include, but are not limited to: stairlifts, through-floor lifts, level access showers, full kitchen adaptations, door widening, ceiling track hoists, wash-dry toilets, wet rooms.
