Draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026–2031
Overview
Have your say on the draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026–2031
We have developed a draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy for 2026–2031 with help from residents, people with lived experience of homelessness, housing providers, voluntary and community sector organisations and we want it to deliver a fairer system.
The strategy sets out how we will work over the next five years to prevent homelessness wherever possible and help households to access suitable homes through the private rented sector and other housing pathways.
It is built around five priorities:
- Prevent homelessness earlier and reduce repeat homelessness
- Tackle rough sleeping
- Improve access to the private rented sector and other housing pathways
- Deliver joined-up and accessible services
- Improve the quality and safety of temporary accommodation.
We would like to hear your views on whether these priorities reflect the challenges facing residents and whether they focus on the areas where the Council should direct its efforts over the next five years.
You can also access an Easy Read Version of the Strategy here.
Why your views matter
Your feedback will help us refine the strategy and shape the final action plan, ensuring it responds to the needs and experiences of residents, partners and stakeholders.
